Volunteer with Us

We couldn’t work without our volunteers. Whether welcoming people to our offices, leading language classes or providing peer to peer support, our volunteers make Welsh Refugee Council.

Our volunteers come from around the globe and all backgrounds and collectively speak over 15 different languages. They include former teachers, entrepreneurs and journalists. We particularly welcome volunteers from the asylum and refugee backgrounds.

Many volunteers say that coming to the Welsh Refugee Council is like having a second family.

The Gwent Helping End Homelessness BOOST Project

  • Are you an Asylum-Seeker or Refugee in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport or Torfaen?
  • Do you want to volunteer to develop your skills and help the community?
  • Contact boost@projects.wrc.wales to volunteer today.

The Gwent BOOST project is a five-year National Lottery funded project working to help end homelessness.

We are colloborating with partners throughout Gwent to find volunteer placements for asylum-seekers and refugees. Through participating in these volunteer placements, people are enabled with the tools and skills they need to move on with their lives, leaving homelessness behind for good.
